Coup de Coeur

Before Christmas, we had selected our coup de coeur on PAPM. But due to the festivities, I could not post the pictures on the blog though everything was announced on the group. Here they are now on the PAPM blog.

Zaheer Allam has always proved himself to strive for the best, and always he has shown effort to build up his talent in photography. Last week, his picture of Zarrin, his sister was chosen by us as Coup de Coeur. Congratulations to you Zaheer !

Zaheer Allam

The second Coup de Coeur of admins and officers on PAPM was the picture of Sandeep Doorgah. He works hard too to make beautiful pictures that would catch people's attention and always his images are striking, funny just as the captions of his images. Therefore, for the second week Sandeep you are among our favorites during the week before Christmas. Continue to make more efforts !

Sandeep Doorgah -  A vibrantly colored gecko plays a key role in a highly threatened ecological community in Mauritius.

Our other Coup de Coeur was the portrait of a beautiful model by Michael Boldrini. He may love to photograph powerful images of kids and showing us how life is sometimes unjust but yet beautiful, but when he is not doing that, Michael can deliver amazing and charming portraits that catch everyone's attention. You know how to reveal  how much a woman is one of the most beautiful things on this earth just like a kid's smile. Congratulations !

Picture of the week - Rk Bluesman

Hello guys,

I hope that you all had a merry Christmas with your families and friends. I had a nice one too and because of that we are a bit late on the blog's posts. Therefore I shall announce the photographer who was named Picture of the Week on PAPM before the Christmas week. And it is Rk BluesMan, whose picture of women at work in the fields was selected by us for its powerful and striking uniqueness.  And I quote one member by saying that it has a "strong sense of realism in this portrayal of working women". For that, we say kudos for sharing this beautiful image with us on the group.

Congratulations Robert !

10 000th picture on PAPM - Time for celebration !

Dear members of PAPM,

I think it's high time for some statistics on the blog and on the group.
Since launching the blog in May, we have got to date, 42 followers, not a big figure but hey, we have 5308 visitors ! They are mostly from Mauritius, but PAPMers, your work have also been viewed by people in Australia, America, France, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Malaysia and even Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Jordan !

Now let's move on to the group on Facebook.
Every day, people request to join and some are accepted, some are rejected. Today, on PAPM, we are 585 members. It might sound quite insignificant but hey, 585 people from Mauritius scattered over the world, reunited in one group with one common passion, with friendship as ties, that's a big achievement !

With 585 members that can post a maximum of 3 photos per day, we have been waiting eagerly for the moment the 10 000th picture would appear on PAPM. And here we are ! AVINASH SUSTY posted the  10 000th photo on the group this morning and we thought it called for some celebration. We are in the mood anyway with Christmas and New Year coming ! Congratulations to you Avinash for your wonderful pictures but also, for your  faithful presence among us, always posting pictures and sometimes even giving out tips to help people. We value your membership in PAPM.

After 3 years, 12 administrators and officers, 585 members and 10 000 pictures posted on the group, I think PAPM deserve a big clap for reuniting so many people of different horizons !

Toast for PAPM on Sunday's lunch !

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Hello PAPMers,

I apologize for being so late with the publication of the Coup de Coeur of last week, but well, better late than never. We've been so busy preparing things for the festivities and for PAPM too ! A surprise is on its way for you. To make you wait, here are the 'coup de coeur' of the admins and officers of the group.

Always striving to get amazing pictures, Sandeep Doorgah's efforts have not been unnoticed by us. We have decided to recognize his big effort to obtain such a great picture of a fly on a flower. Having a 18-55mm, the standard lens for his camera, did not hinder him from getting this fantastic photograph ! Kudos to you, Sandeep !

Sandeep Doorgah

Our second pick for the coup de coeur is Doorgesh Mungur. When is not at wedding shooting fabulous pictures of great moments of a couple's lives, he is shooting models in the mud or in the water. And we have got to say, the results are awesome ! Well done to you and Pratyush Nobeen.

Doorgesh Mungur
Our last coup de coeur of last week was the picture of Hemraj Vishal Soomoe. You might sometimes wonder why some people say Mauritius is like a paradise... Well other than the white sandy beaches, the inlands are also full of beautiful things like this stunning picture of twilight near Tamarin. Congratulations to you Hemraj and also to Hysteria Prods who appears on the picture.

Congratulations for your works, guys !
Keep it up !

Picture of the week - Bu Rt

When we look for beautiful things in nature, we sometimes see only the beautiful flowers and trees that make up in part the marvelous landscapes. But sometimes it happens that one person can look for the intricate things that mother Nature nurtures. This one person this week is Bu Rt whose eyes spotted this breathtaking scene of weeds bathing in the sunset rays. Like those weeds, we are inspired by the summer feel. Poetic and warm, this picture has been a delight for our eyes on PAPM.

Congratulations for being the picture of the week!

PAPM Theme Abstract

Morning or evening everyone,
I hope that your week had a good start and it's getting better. As for me, well I am late with the publication of the abstract gallery but I hope that it was worth the wait because here is the publication of the best pictures during the theme event Abstract. Many of you have shown your creative mind in those pictures and I thank you for sharing with us. To the others, I encourage you to let your mind flow freely so that your creativity reveals itself. The mind is one most beautiful and complex thing and it is up to you to try to show in your photographs what that same mind is capable of seeing and doing.
Now congratulations to those whose pictures are up here today on the blog.

Stay tuned for the next theme
and remember that this is not a contest but a means to enhance your creativity!

P.S. Names will be added tomorrow. Having a small trouble with the caption, not appearing on most pictures.

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Hello folks,

We might be a few days late with the posts on the blog but hey, cheer up, here come the new Coup de Coeur of the admins and officers of PAPM !

When a picture captivates you, makes you question yourself and eventually troubles your mind, you sometimes say this picture has got something that speaks to you ! Well, Julien Gonnin posted this week on the group a very beautiful picture which I categorized as "Psychedelic" for its wonderful colors and that music beat it seems to create in my mind. Stirring, powerful and unusual, that picture deserved to be honored and what better way of expressing our appreciation than by putting it as Coup de Coeur !

Julien Gonnin
Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and what I see now on the picture of Michael Boldrini is the beauty of the eyes of a fabulous woman. I have never for my part seen such a fine photograph of a veiled woman. What Michael captured here shows that the eyes are truly a powerful tool which can set many men's heart racing. Very traditional, yet beautiful, Michael's picture wooed our hearts.

Michael Boldrini

There is an old saying in French that says: "La simplicité fait bien les choses". This week on the Facebook page of PAPM, it has been demonstrated to us by three beautiful pictures posted by 3 members.

First of all, Michael Roussel, you deserved too for your active participation and continuous show of stunning imageries, to be among the Coup de Coeur. We loved that magnificent daisy you choose to picture in all its simplicity. Bravo Michael !

Michael Roussel
The second image that embodies really well the French saying I quoted up above, is a picture of a bee and a flower. Well done to Yat Rdrs who captured this "hover fly" as called by one member. Delicate and sweet, this image shows the beauty of what is in nature. Continue to try hard at getting even better pictures.

Yat Rdrs
Last but not least, is the image of someone whose efforts we would like to praise. New among the PAPM family, I think this mention to his picture and name on the blog would be a most warm welcome. Congratulations to Asvin Jacob.

Picture of the week - Mozammil Khodabacchas

Ever since he received his camera and started shooting around, Mozammil Khodabacchas aka Milo has always felt more at ease with landscapes than portraits. And he did not mind getting all tanned just to catch those seascapes he adores very much. This week, his picture of a "pink sea" is featured on PAPM's blog as picture of the week. Succeeding to the "Alice" portrait of Leteechia Runagasamy, this serene and appealing photograph has been chosen for its beauty, fantastic composition and also for appraising the efforts of Milo at trying to get better and better.

Well done !

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Here I am again !

This time I will announced the PAPMers whose pictures have been chosen as Coup de Coeur. We had a hard time choosing just one and so therefore, I decided to put those admins and officers loved all the way.

Always trying to do his best at being creative, Zaheer Allam has this week uploaded a beautiful picture of a close up on a cactus plant. Its magnificent light, colors and droplets of water caught our eyes. It would have been perfect for our abstract theme. It shows the spirit we are trying to stir in our members by creating such themes. Thank you for the effort Zaheer.

Mauritius' landscapes always seem to be beautified by Aboo Khadaroo's lens. His passion for them has lately produced a beautiful album titled Beaches of Mauritius and this week, he posted the above picture. Its composition and colors wooed us and we thought why not put this picture among our Coup de Coeur ! Well done Aboo !

When Emma Thiternik Grigoryan posted this fantastic and almost surreal picture on PAPM this week, a desire to go to the sea, to dive and to swim bubbled up among our PAPMers. Inspiring and beautiful, this picture is the dreamroad she found in Mauritius and we hope that the road does not end where the sea and the sky meet. Good luck to you !

And thank you all for sharing your art with us !
And a little mention to Jean-Louis Bryan Janvier whose picture of the three kids on the beach also appealed very much to one of us. Keep it up !

Picture of the week - Leteechia Rungasamy

Hello folks,

After celebrating Houriiyah Tegally's efforts as picture of the week previously, this week we welcome as our new profile picture on PAPM's Facebook page, the portrait done by Leteechia Rungasamy.

Congratulations to you,

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Hello members of PAPM and lovers of photography,

Here we are again getting ready to announce you the new Coup de Coeur of admins and officers on PAPM. We all had a tough moment deciding which picture to choose but in the end, our great likes for flowers and love stories won over all the other pictures. This week, we chose not one picture for Coup de Coeur, but three pictures. We have that of the bokeh lover, Mo Pena Nom, the micros expert, Bu Rt and last but not the least, the wedding photographer, Doorgesh Mungur.

Doorgesh Mungur's picture of this lovely couple praying and holding a light conquered our hearts. Its atmosphere filled with love, warmth and intimacy convinced us that it should be among the Coup de Coeur of the PAPM's blog. The other pictures from that couple series are also worth the attention !

He may bear no name, but his pictures bear his watermark, a watermark not made with ink, but with bokehs ! Poetic, this image of Mo Pena Nom is imprinted with such a delicacy and a sense of aesthetics that it simply melts our hearts.

One day, you could run into Bu Rt at the Champ-de-Mars photographing horses with that passion we know him to harbor. But on days when he feels like looking for the intricate outlines in nature, this "Little Buddha" is the type of pictures you will see him doing. And for doing this so well, he deserves to be our Coup de Coeur too. That is teaching some good macro lesson !

Congratulations to you !

Picture of the week - Houriiyah Tegally

Hello folks,

Last week, Jeffrey Chan Tin's picture of beautiful flowers in BW was selected as Picture of the Week ! And he deserved it (the picture is now printed and probably framed on the wall of his house). This week, we have decided to encourage one of our recent members who is dedicated to the art of photography. She has shown a lot of love for clicking and has done many efforts to try to get the best pictures. She kept on improving and today, we decided that she should be our new Picture of the Week to reward her!

Congratulations
Houriiyah Tegally !

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Now this week for the Coup de Coeur, we had a tie. We saw beautiful pictures that amateurs posted on PAPM and we could not decide which one we would put on the blog. Therefore, I thought why choose. All the pictures were outstanding in their own way. So here on the blog this week, we named Keveen Rick Mihdidin and Yashna Mooloo as our Coup de Coeur for the first week of November. Keveen, all your pics posted on the group during October caught our attention. Obviously we could not put all of them, but we hope you'd love to see one of them here. Yashna, keep up with the good work. You are getting better with every click !

Congratulations to both of you.
November is sweet, enjoy !

Picture of the week - Jeffrey Chan Tin

Today is the day for a new picture of the week after last week's choice was Marvin Ckf

This week we decided to choose someone's all-time favorite. His favorite became ours and so, Jeffrey Chan Tin's flowers in black and white ended up here on PAPM's Blog and Facebook group as Picture of the Week. And he was also featured among the best pics of the month during October.

Congratulations to you, Jeffrey !

Picture of the week - Marvin Ckf

While we are welcoming the summer season here in Mauritius, the autumnal colors are showing up on the leaves in Pittsburg, the occasion for Marvin Ckf to take beautiful pictures of the fall. His photo is the new Picture of the week on PAPM.

Great job, Marvin !
Thumbs up !

Coup de coeur de la semaine

Et c'est Jack Icard qui cette semaine a été choisi comme coup de coeur ! Tes nuages et paysages nous ont captivés !

Bravo !
