PAPM Outing to Pamplemousses Garden

On Sunday 11th July, a group of PAPMers met at Caudan Waterfront to decide upon our destination for the following week. After some deliberation, it was decided that it would be more accessible to most PAPM members if we went to Pamplemousses (SSR) Garden.

So on the 18th July, when some of us reached the white gates of the Garden, we were pleasantly surprised to meet old and new faces. After an initial brief gathering, we counted the number of people present: 31!

The admins gave out some indications. The PAPMers could form little groups, or go and take pics individually. Moreover to give a sense of purpose (as the Garden is indeed vast), we gave them a sort of assignment, ie, to take at least a portrait, a close-up or macro, and a landscape photograph. Soon after, the group dispersed into the *fatak* - only to be reunited for a friendly and informal lunch on the grass! After this, PAPMers again disappeared in all directions, eager to discover new photo opportunities. While some were engrossed with the flora, others wanted to photograph the animals. Yet others worked on themes they had chosen or took well worked out portraits.

When we ended around 4pm, we were mostly tired but thrilled. It had been a great day and for many, a day where they made new acquaintances and especially new friends. Before we left, we decided upon the Gorges as the next outing - tentatively scheduled on the 1st of August - and took down the names of those interested. As we left, we were very sad at such a nice day ending... but as I say, there'll always be yet another wonderful Sunday with PAPM! Stay tuned for coming gatherings/outings!

And finally that was the picture of the group, though there were some who were still wandering in the Grapefruit garden hunting their pictures. A special thank to Raj K-b who took this picture.
