Welcome to the PAPM Blog

Dear readers, welcome to the PAPM blog!

This blog is an offshoot of the facebook group PAPM - Photographes Amateurs et Pros Mauriciens, which - as its name points out - consists of a group of photographers who share the same passion - Photography!

On this facebook page, therefore, members come and post their best pictures for critique and discussion. We also discuss issues pertaining to photography. One of the interesting aspects of the group is the outings that we do regularly to various places around the island in order to break the ice, socialise amongst other photographers and obviously practise! The people in our group have varying profiles: some are pros, who live from their art and have many years of experience, while some are beginners or enthusiasts. PAPM seeks to regroup these different people through discussions and activities.

So why a blog then? Well a blog seems to be a natural extension to the facebook page. It allows for more interaction and enables the admins of the group to show to the other members and visitors of the blog the various activities that are planned.

So what's on the menu here? The blog will feature certain regular items - which we hope our readers and participants will appreciate such as:

• Photographer of the Week section - with an interview + pictures giving you an insight into that particular photographer's world.
• articles and links on the technical, artistic and commercial aspects of photography.
• Some behind-the-scenes coverage of outings.
• some of the best pictures that members have appreciated on the PAPM facebook page.

A blog is an interactive platform and will not truly exist until its readers react and participate. So you are all invited to post comments and suggestions to the admins. As always, we request all readers and participants to keep their language safe and clean and to respect netiquette.
